John Beasley is the Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Lao Family Community Development, Inc. (LFCD), bringing over 30 years of expertise in finance, startups, and nonprofit organizations. Throughout his career, John has specialized in guiding early-stage companies, helping them navigate complex financial challenges and achieve sustainable
growth.
John earned his B.A. in Finance from Georgia State University and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) early in his career. His professional journey began as a controller for a medical group before transitioning to Ernst and Young as a managing consultant. He then played a pivotal role in scaling a private equity-backed physician practice roll-up, growing the company from inception to $100 million in just three years.
With a strong passion for entrepreneurship, John co-founded the first Internet-based chemical exchange, leading it through multiple rounds of venture financing before its acquisition by the Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange. His extensive experience spans technology, healthcare analysis, hedge fund management, and capital raising, including securing investments from seed to Series D funding rounds.
Committed to leveraging his financial expertise for social impact, John has worked with nonprofits focused on youth development, housing, immigrant services, and higher education. Now at LFCD, he is dedicated to strengthening financial operations, ensuring sustainability, and driving growth to expand services for the communities LFCD serves. Through his leadership, he aims to enhance the organization’s long-term impact and effectiveness in creating opportunities for those in need.
