Sacramento County

Lao Family Community Development, Inc. (LFCD) serves Sacramento County through its CARE Community Center located at 3205 Hurley Way, along with two auxiliary offices in South Sacramento and Downtown.

LFCD provides a wide range of integrated services focused on family support, refugee resettlement, housing assistance, and resources for individuals experiencing homelessness, domestic violence survivors, refugees, immigrants, and low-income individuals.

Our services include helping clients navigate and apply for public assistance programs such as General Assistance, CalFresh (SNAP), SSI/SSDI, and Veterans’ benefits. We also assist individuals in securing health insurance coverage through Medi-Cal, Medicare, and Covered California, ensuring access to essential healthcare services. In addition, LFCD supports individuals in connecting to long-term resources such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, and affordable housing programs, including the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8), administered by the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA).

LFCD’s housing programs in Sacramento include scattered-site housing, CARE Casita Villages, and a confidential safe house to provide secure, stable housing for individuals and families in crisis.
