Rita Xavier is an elected city official, serving as a Councilmember for the City of San Pablo, California, since December 2018. She is a 28-year resident of San Pablo and has been involved in several city planning projects and activities under San Pablo Community Services.

Rita’s decades of volunteer work and civil service in New York State have been carried forward with her involvement in California State, the County of Contra Costa, and the City of San Pablo. In recent years, she has been a member of the San Pablo Historical Society, volunteering at the city’s museums. Decades ago she worked for the United States Senate, House of Representatives, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Buffalo Board of Education, gaining leadership qualities.

Rita is a proud grandmother, with four children and seven grandchildren.
