Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Diana Lyons is part Native Hawaiian, Filipino, Chinese and German. She obtained her degree at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned her Real Estate License from Vitousek Real Estate School.
Diana joined Lao Family in 2010 as a Workforce Development Specialist for the CalWORKs’ Work Experience Department. In 2012, she launched the DOR Program, in partnership with the Department of Rehabilitation, to find gainful employment for people with disabilities. Since 2014, Diana has been the Site Manager for the Eastmont Career and Employment Center (CEC) in Oakland.
Before Lao Family, Diana worked as a counselor and job readiness trainer for at-risk youth and young adults at several Bay Area community-based organizations. She brings 10+ years of marketing experience in the financial services and computer software industry. Since moving to California, she’s acquired her CBEST credentials to work as a substitute teacher and also earned her Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) credentials.
